The 7th Global Views Monthly USR University Social Responsibility Awards 2026 held its award ceremony on April 9, where Chung Yuan Christian University stood out among fierce competition, demonstrating outstanding achievements in social practice and engagement.

This year, a record-breaking 222 projects from 57 universities and colleges participated in the competition.

The team led by Associate Professor Wei-Kuang Liu from the Department of Landscape Architecture at Chung Yuan Christian University received the Outstanding Achievement Award in the “Local Inclusion” category for the project Exploring a Sustainable Future for Military Dependents’ Village Culture and Community Life.

The project not only incorporated an international perspective, but also collaborated with as many as 16 NGOs, public-sector organizations, and private enterprises. By guiding students to engage deeply with the Longgang area of Taoyuan, the team used professional design expertise to preserve cultural memory while putting into practice the university’s core values of “holistic education” and “the integration of theory and practice.”
