Outstanding Graduates

After graduation, I found that digital illustration and design skills are not very applicable for employment in the public sector, where work tends to focus more on practical and safety-oriented engineering design. I was assigned to the Landscape Division and began working at the Parks Department. Conveniently, I took on the responsibility for the design projects of Taipei’s 228 Peace Park and nearby parks in Zhongzheng District. This was my first opportunity to directly implement designs in physical park spaces.

Starting from site observation, analyzing existing vegetation, and assessing potential safety hazards, I made adjustments to the current parks. I then independently designed the desired improvements or new features, submitted the plans for supervisory approval, and managed the contracting process myself. This experience gave me almost full control over the design process.

For those who wish to make tangible changes to their living environment, working in the public sector can be a good option due to its authoritative role. Currently, I am dedicated to learning more about ecological design, hoping to apply this knowledge in my country’s national parks in the future to enhance the quality of living environments.
